It is almost HFD DAY again!

I AM DOOM AND I AM AWESOME!

Seriously, that is the best Doctor Doom ever! He may replace the IRON MAN figure in my heart and pockets. I need to work on a good Doom voice to use over the walkie talkie at work. As predicted, it has rained quite a bit this weekend. In the end, no biggie, since I was in no condition to go ride a bike today anyway. Going into work at 5am tomorrow, because I need the hours and it's a simple 5 hour shift, 3 of which will be before we're even open and the rest will be before the church crowd comes stomping in for Wiis and bicycles. I did not rent BOOM BLOX yet; had a lot of other stuff going on and it would have wasted rental days.

And now I believe it shall be sleepy time. Word.

My hat, it has three corners; Three corners has my hat!

So have I ever mentioned that I really want to steal this boat? er... Commandeer! I want to commandeer this boat. (It's a nautical term.) I figure that all I will need is a smaller and faster boat, a telescope, a potato gun, and a monkey. And a tricorn hat. I mean, seriously, you can pilot that thing with one person? How awesome is that? I'd set up my own floating palace. Somewhere in the Pacific, near GUAM.

This just in: It has been made official- Sanrio now has everything under the sun branded with that adorable little cat. I shall have to purchase a couple kilos as the final touch on my Million Dollar Idea. Perhaps John DeLorean would have bid on it...

OLAF sez, "WHUTUP!"

I was surprisingly not really sore at all after yesterday's bike ride, which is a very good thing. It's apparently supposed to rain all weekend, so we'll see how much of it I spend on the bike. The canal towpath is pretty wide open as far as cover goes, so I'd basically get drenched if I was out for any amount of time. But I'm not sore, so hooray for my muscular awesomeness!

Of course, if it does rain, I can always go catch a movie. Speed Racer is apparently dirt, so I think I want to catch Prince Caspian instead. (Or IRON MAN again!) Really, I've just got a week to kill until Indy comes out. I do want to hit up Big Don's Wild River Adventure for some mini-golf action as well, but the rain would pretty much defeat that notion right away. I also have it in my head that I want to rent BOOM BLOX for the Wii, so perhaps I shall just stay inside all weekend and play that. We'll see. Friday is payday and I have mad text message abilitiez. So hit me up if you have a better idea. Or if you like one or more of the ideas above. Or if you want to get drunk and have wings. Beer and wings is always a plus. Maybe the pool table will be cleared off this time.

And finally, a tidbit that gives me the serious giggles. I've actually been meaning to post about this item for years. We've sold it at work for as long as I can remember and I'm actually kind of surprised that they still haven't changed the package. It's your average, run-of-the-mill, iron-on inkjet transfer paper for home t-shirt making. (At the old apartment complex, the guys down on the first floor made shirts with hardcore lesbian porno scenes on them.) However, all non-sequiturs about porno shirts aside, the really funny part here is in the picture on the package. Those kids are so happy that their parents have sent them to Camp Crystal Lake! (kii kii kii ma ma ma) Makes me giggle. It has now for years.

Next time, baby, next time!

It's displayed on the ad board at work. Gotta love it. Makes me giggle like you wouldn't believe: (Mobile Upload peeps have already seen this, whoops.)

In other news, go see IRON MAN. It's awesome. Forgetting Sarah Marshall was pretty good too. I'll use my newly adopted standard scale of review here:

Forgetting Sarah Marshall- $7.50 out of $9.50: Super funny. Could have done without the dong, haha.
IRON MAN- $9.50 out of $9.50: Go see it. Now.

Really though, IRON MAN is awesome and fully deserving of being typed in all caps. Not being a super deluxe fan of the comic, I won't pick the couple nits that my brother does, heh.

In other entertainment news, I got the R4 Thingy for my DS. It's a flash reader that lets me play homebrew games, go online, use the DS as a PDA, watch media, and, uh, test out games for a demo period, haha. Picked up a lot of DS games as a result of this, YAR, some of which are games that I wouldn't have ever touched otherwise.

So here we go with the same review scale: (Using the retail prices of course, avast!)

Professor Layton and the Curious Village- $30 out of $30: I like logic puzzles. I buy logic puzzle books. This is right up my alley. I log on every Monday for the new puzzle and I can't wait for the sequels.
Contact- $20 out of $20(?): I dunno if this game ever actually came out. I remember reviews for it, and I know some people who actually bought it, but I've never seen it for sale anywhere. In any case, it's pretty, nice RPG with a lot of stuff to do. I might not ever finish it simply because I'm getting caught doing recipes and farming for cooking items.
NY Times Crossword Puzzles- $15 out of $20: I wouldn't have ever played this. I love crossword puzzles, but that shit gets left for free in someone else's newspaper in the break room for Bob's sake. However, it's fun for what it is. Makes me curious about the new CrossworDS game that comes out this week.

And finally....
The World Ends With You- $50 out of $30: Yeah, you read that right. This game is a joy to play. The art style is sweet and the music is awesome. (Hope you like j-pop!) The control is fresh, innovative, and spot-on. I'm a few chapters in and the story so far is pretty nifty. Squeeeeeenix outdid themselves with this one. I really only have one problem with it... I really suck at it. I mean, I can't get a decent battle rank for the life of me. At first I was all happy because I was getting E-ranks on battles until I realize that that shit doesn't mean 'excellent'. I might get better, but I can't manage both screens adeptly and leaving the top screen on autoplay doesn't help me get combo bonuses.

As part of IRON MAN WEEKEND, I rented the Wii version of the game. It's pretty well done, but it's really short. Rent it, or wait for it to hit the discount bins.

I also went bowling this weekend. That was awesome too. I started taking OLAF out for rides again. Between yesterday and today, I've probably biked a total of fifteen miles, which isn't a whole lot, but for my out-of-shape ass, it is plenty. Tomorrow I am off from work, so I will probably try to get the GPS mounted on the handlebars and get an actual distance.

So now I shall leave you with a picture of the GREATEST DRUMMER TO EVER PICK UP DRUMSTICKS:

Check out the video too! :D

BERZERKER!

This is OLAF. Much like the Mustang, he is coming out of his wintery home this weekend. The weather here has finally (kinda sorta) gotten warm, so maybe that douchebag groundhog was right after all. In any case, I spent yesterday cleaning chipmunk bits out of my air filter and getting the battery all charged up and ready for action. In related news, the speedometer pins out at 120 and the country backroads around my house are no longer icy.

Now I just have to get the inspection and registration taken care of.... apparently I still don't live in California anymore.

The cooking show in the background was just showing recipes for fish tacos. Damn, I miss Rubio's. Next sunny day, I think I shall try this recipe out, get a sixer of Corona, and throw on Songs You Know By Heart. Hooray!
