Days off FTMFW!

So I totally just fibbed to work. They tried calling me in at 7:00AM this morning. (Mike and Brian both called out, no doubt.) I ignored the phone, rolled over, and went back to bed. I called back about three hours later and said that I had just gotten up (partial fib) and that I had stuff going on and could not come in (total fib, all I have planned today is to lay in the sun, which I guess is not really a fib then). So now I have coffee, a bagel, and I'm cranking Swagger. Word.

Besides, a lot of my coworkers have been all angsty-pants lately because of the new stores, promotions, and transfers; and I'm sick of hearing about it. I'm not leaving simply because the other two new stores are too far to drive, especially in winter. There's a slight hope that when everyone else leaves, I can take one of their jobs, but this is me not holding my breath. In related news, it was annual review time again- mine turned out pretty decent. There are basically five levels of superiority, haha, I'm a four. In real people terms, this means I get a pay raise and I now make more than I did at Arby's, which is pretty excellent, all things considered. More real people terms put promotions as follows: getting bumped up to a specialist nets a $1/hour, team lead is $2/hour. The guaranteed hours are the nice part about those positions, especially in first quarter and early fall.

Spent most of last night figuring out Facebook, which I'm still pretty much a dunce at, but at least I know how to find/add people now, haha. Woke up this morning to find yet another Myspace friend request for my HS reunion, so I vented about that for while (again) and now I feel better. Rest assured, with less than two months until the reunion date, they'll try to add me a good two or three more times. Block them, you say? Why? Then I wouldn't be able to get all pissy about it. :D

(This damned phone needs to stop fucking ringing.)

So, about two weeks ago, I bought a couple starter packs of the Pirates of the Spanish Main game to test it out (and because it has cool little miniature pirate ships!). My brother and I got a kick out of it, so now he's been adding to our fleet.See? It's pretty much an armada at this point, especially considering that his birthday is this weekend and he's getting another haul of ships equal to that from our folks. Cardboard booty does not stand a chance! (Plus now we'll have a metric assload of TINY DICE, which is always excellent.)

Three days until HOORAY FOR DINOSAURS DAY!
